Well, if we were to suppose that the stages of “bargaining” and “depression” are to come before “acceptance,” we would expect a lengthy period of dismal public sentiment within the country. Luckily, we live in a country where sentiment is fickle and hope springs eternal. Te investment community, for instance, has been singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” ever since Trump’s


ate it or love it, a new season is upon us. Flying in the face of virtually all prognostication, a much maligned, often polarizing real


election in November. Excited by the pro-growth, anti-regulatory platforms of the new administration, the fans in the market section seem oblivious to the fact that stern anti-immigration policies will likely lead to agricultural labor shortages and increases in the cost of peanuts and Cracker Jack!


Meanwhile, the drama ensuing between the branches of government, the various agencies, and the mainstream media has even casual fans pouring through the gates to catch a glimpse of how Trump’s power hitters will fare against the crafty veteran pitchers within the “establishment.” Fans on both sides of the aisle, perhaps more fervently than ever, feel that “if they don’t win, it’s a shame.”


No matter where your allegiance lies, it’s already proving to be an interesting season, and we’re not even out of spring training! By the time the last seventh inning stretch arrives and visions of Harry Caray stumbling through the classic Norworth/Von Tilzer anthem are conjured in our minds, we’ll have a pretty good feel for whether we’ve witnessed yet another season in which the more things “changed,” the more they stayed the same.
