Spring Training LETOURNEAU CHRISTIAN CENTER

Spiritual N

o one steps onto the diamond after a long winter without needing a little warm up. Tis is what spring training is all

about: getting your muscles back into shape, fine-tuning your timing, and limbering up for the season ahead. At LeTourneau Christian Center in Rushville, New York, the ministry serves as a wonderful launching point that renews the physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual development of youth and adults.

who feel they are transformed after an experience at LeTourneau. One student who came to LeTourneau’s WAY Ministry wrote, “Camp has changed my life, took me out of being shy, taught me to serve for God’s glory and lay down my life for others. It also has grown me in my devotion time with God. I can’t go one day now without spending time in His Word!”

Canandaigua Lake is one of New York’s famous Finger Lakes. Nestled into this beautifully scenic area, you’ll find LeTourneau Christian Center (LeTCC) hosting paint ball, boating, tubing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, and more all in one location. Jamie Fischer, LeTCC Director, shares that he loves seeing thousands of people visit the LeTCC campus every year and experience Christ: “I feel so blessed to see so many lives changed forever; children meet Christ for the first time, young people sell out to an eternal

purpose, men and women are equipped to build up the church, and always, God is glorified.”

Te lives changed at this valuable “training ground” are innumerable. “We see dozens of individuals receive salvation every year and hundreds more follow God in incredible ways,” Fischer shares. “I remember meeting a wonderful woman in her sixties my first summer at LeTourneau who told me how she came to know Christ and surrendered to ministry on our campus. Decades later, she is a committed missionary and has taught thousands the Gospel and discipled nearly just as many!”

In good times and bad times, LeTCC shares that they have wonderful supporters who carry their ministry financially, and they have for more than 80 years. Te biggest challenge, as it is for so many charities, is that the vision

and mission can only go as far as the people who support the ministry.

Director Fischer shares that he often plays baseball with his seven- year-old son, Josiah, throughout the summer on their expansive campus. “Tis year, he has his heart set on playing for a local team,” Jamie says. “I believe God has given him skills, but it is his passion for the sport that has motivated him to get better and pursue some team competition.” Likewise, LeTourneau is blessed with wonderful resources, but it is the God-given passion of His people following the call to build the Kingdom that will make this ministry fruitful and move LeTCC into the future.
